Can I just say that I adore this set?? At least a few times a year, I have a need for a baby card. I have a friend who's having a baby soon that wanted to do announcements, so I came up with this sweet little card to share with her.

She wants to make her announcements with her hubs, so I've been gathering all the baby cards I have for ideas. Unfortunately, I didn't have even one card with this adorable set, so I decided to get to work.

I LOVE the cute stamp that goes with this set, allowing you to add the baby's stats! :)

Peacock {Punch Art}

While at Convention, I was able to do some organized swaps & Punch Art was one of my most favorites! This little guy took some time, but I think he turned out fabulously! :) I LOVE the new Designer Series Paper, Summer Smooches! It's so versatile! Just a little strip of it added so much character to this card.

The stamp set the word 'Celebrate' came from, Fabulous Phrases is one that I love so much. There are 30 words in the set, all coordinating, so you can customize any card to say the perfect words. :)

Paper: Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (125409), Island Indigo (122923), Lucky Limeade (122926), Daffodil Delight (119683), Tempting Turquoise (102067), Pumpkin Pie (105117)

Test Tube Candy Box Holder

I had a lot of fun, making these cute 3-D swaps for Convention. Though I accidently used a retired embossing folder, many girls asked for them like it didn't matter! I had several requests for instructions on how to make these, so I went on a hunt for the instructions I found online. Actually, it wasn't me who found it online, but my Mom. The copy she gave me listed the website it came from, but unfortunately the site is no longer up & running.

So instead of sending you over to the source listed on my recipe, I've scanned in the page & will share with you the recipe for making this cutie!

(Not to scale)

Using an 11"x4" piece of card stock, you'll cut along the solid lines & score along the dashed lines.
Along the 11" side, you'll score at 1/2", 1 3/4", 4 1/4", & 5 1/2".
Along the 4" side (the top of the image), you'll score at 3".
Use a 3/4"-1" circle punch, depending on the size of test tube you purchased. You want it to be a snug fit.

The test tubes were purchased through Seaside Crafts in a bulk order. Their website is currently under construction, but they have a Yahoo group to keep people informed of their current deals. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/seasidecrafts/

Stamp Set: Greeting Card Kids (119887 Wood Mount, 120633 Clear Mount)
Paper: Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (117152), Pretty in Pink (100459), Whisper White (100730)
Ink: StazOn (101406), Pretty in Pink (126955), Rose Red (126954), Pretty in Pink Stampin' Write Marker (100045), Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Marker (100037), So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker (126957)
Tools: Extra Large Oval Punch (119859), 3/4" Circle Punch (119873), Blender Pen (102845)
Accessories: Pretty in Pink Scallop Dots Ribbon (124141)

Stampin' UP! Convention 2012

If I had to sum it up in one word, I'd have to say it was SOMUCHFUN! :) I was able to attend Convention this year with my Mom. I woke early every day & went to be really late every day & walked 5 miles each day, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I was able to take 500 swaps with me, so I have LOTS of fabulous new ideas to share! Plus I took pics of all my Mom's swaps & well as our roommates swaps.

As a side note, if you are hesitant to share a room with a complete stranger, just remember she's a stamper, so she must be great! ;) We were really lucky with the roommate my mom found & I'm sure we've made a lifetime friend.

While I ran off to crash a class I hadn't signed up for, my Mom stood in line to get a picture with Shelli Gardner. :)

Here's one of the first cards I did for swapping. I love the colors & I really love this particular fancy fold! It's so simple, yet so pretty!

Stamp Sets: Artistic Etchings (118517 Wood Mount, 120573 Clear Mount), French Foliage (120845 Wood Mount, 121166 Clear Mount)

Ink: Basic Black (126980), Cherry Cobbler (126966), Tangerine Tango (126946)

Baby {Love}

I've been saying for a few years now I'd love to have more babies. I adore babies. They're soft & snuggly & warm & YUMMY! I wanted to be a midwife for a while, just so I could have more babies, without being in charge of raising them. :)

Caring for babies is a breeze compared to raising children. Note that I say this now, since my youngest baby is 5. I'm sure I was singing a different tune 5 years ago, in the middle of the night. heehee

I have a few pregnant friends who are due to have their babies soon, so I've been case-ing baby cards on Stampin' Connection & found one I love. I wanted to do it as a convention swap, but decided I'd better just do one to see how much work goes in to it, before deciding to make 25 of them.

I'm so glad I did!

While this took time too much time to consider doing them as a swap, it turned out so adorable & can't wait to give it to my girlfriend with her shower gift!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Packed for Baby, Tiny Tags
Paper: Pretty in Pink, & Regal Rose
Ink Pads: Pretty in Pink, & Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Itty Bitty Shapes Flower Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Blender Pens

Thanks for peeking in! :)

{Convention}

I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to go to convention this year! My mom has been a Stampin' UP! Demo for about 15 years & has gone to Convention many times. one of my favorite things to do when she came back was to go through all her swaps.

She's a bit of a swap-a-holic & takes no less than 500 swaps, but likes to take at least 1000. That number sounds overwhelming to these ears!

So far, I'm up to 80 swaps, with the hopes nothing I've made will be eliminated from the upcoming 2012-2013 Stampin' UP! Catalog.

Here's one I CASE'd just today. It was pretty quick to make & (I think) it turned out pretty cute, so I think this will be one of my swaps.

I used the new Summer Smooches DSP for this cute card. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Shoe Box Swap!

This weekend I was graciously invited to crash another Stampin' UP! groups shoe box swap. It was the first one I'd ever been to & I'm excited to report it was SO. MUCH. FUN!! Our hostess was the well know Stampin' UP! demonstrator Gwen Mangelson, from Gwen's Paper Expressions, who is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met! I was thrilled to meet her & she was so welcoming. :)

I was so engrossed & tried to pay attention to every detail, I forgot to take pictures while I was there. :( I did get pics of the swaps I managed to get done before I left.

This first project was Gwen's. It's so cute! It would make for a great gift for a new neighbor, or a sister I Visit Teach, or even 3-D swap at convention! It took very little time to make & was quite creative.

The next one took the longest, but was so fun & inventive! I was very impressed! I glued two 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 envelopes together & added paper, stamps, & embellishments to turn it in to a mini-
album/purse/most adorable thing EVER!

We used the pocket of the envelopes to add pull out scalloped squares to put pictures on. Like I said, I was so impressed with this little project & once I found out who had put it together for us, I felt like I was practically in the presence of a stampin' celebrity! She's a member of the UStamp With Dawn and Friends design team.

I love this next card! It took a few tries to get the circles all going the way I wanted them to, what with my OCD about perfect spacing & all, but it turned out SO CUTE!

I enjoy simple cards. I think I over-do it sometimes, but this card fit the bill nicely. :)

Lastly, I made a little 3x3 Thank You card for Gwen, for letting me crash the party. Along with it, I gave her a really cute notepad holder.

I found a video on You Tube from How'd She DO That? that gave an easy tutorial on making these. I made a dozen of them for a Favorite Things party the night before & had some extras. They turned out really nicely.

You can find the tutorial here.

A tutorial for the flowers can be found here.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Post-Valentine's

I'm late with this, I know, but these are too cute not to share! They were a card for my hubs & a gift for my kindergartner's teacher.

Cute stuff!

I used the Melon scented embossing powder from the Occasions Mini Catalog to emboss the adorable little cupid. {YUM!} He smells edible! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
